Melancholie-Mélancolie aan de /aux 5 blokken (why don't they revolt ?) is a music theatre project initiated by Raf Custers and the Brussels Brecht-Eisler Choir directed by Lieve Fransen. This project is about the city. About poverty, about fragile people, about how little leeway they have in the city. We follow the residents of a large ensemble of social housing in the centre of Brussels, a neighbourhood of unhealthy housing that will soon be demolished and rebuilt. The “5 blokken” of the Papenvest.
